Fighting Illini head coach Shauna Green has announced the addition of Nick Erickson to the Illinois women's basketball staff as a graduate assistant on Tuesday, June 4. Erickson was a practice player and manager with the program across the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.

A 2024 graduate of the University of Illinois, Erickson hails from Gilberts, Illinois, and earned his bachelor's degree in financial planning and services. He is now pursuing a master's in management.

In his two seasons as a practice player and manager with the Orange and Blue, Erickson traveled with the team to away games and served on the scout team in addition to helping with video coordination.

Following a standout high school career at Hampshire High School, Erickson played one season of Division I basketball at Jacksonville University before transferring to Illinois. During his year in Jacksonville, Erickson was also a SAAC (student-athlete advisory committee) representative for the men's basketball team while earning Dean's List honors both semesters.

In high school, Erickson was a two-time selection to the Fox Valley All-Area Team and two-time All-Conference honoree. He was the varsity team captain as both a junior and senior and earned honor roll status both seasons as well.
