Maya Solomon 2023

Maya Solomon

Maya Solomon concluded her third season as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Fighting Illini women's basketball program in 2024-25. Solomon's hire was announced by head coach Shauna Green on April 6, 2022.

Solomon came to Illinois after serving the previous two seasons (2020-22) as Green’s Director of Basketball Operations at Dayton. During her tenure at UD, Solomon helped the Flyers to back-to-back Atlantic 10 conference championships and postseason berths in the 2021 WNIT and 2022 NCAA tournament.

Solomon first joined Green’s UD staff after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant for the University of North Carolina-Greensboro women's basketball program (2018-20). There, she earned her master's degree in applied arts & sciences in May 2020, while helping the Spartans to a share of the 2020 Southern Conference regular-season championship.

Prior to her time in North Carolina, Solomon was a standout and state champion at Penn High School in Granger, Ind. She attended Maryville University in St. Louis, Mo., graduating in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in sports business management. She was a four-year varsity letter winner on the Maryville women's basketball team, and received the program’s Senior Award in 2018 while also serving as the Saints’ captain.
