2001 Highlights: Appeared in 50 of the Illini?s 72 games ? Started 36 games, 25 in left field, five in right field, and six at designated player. ? Often entered the Illini line-up late in the game for defense. ? Has two pinch hits, including a double in Minnesota series ? Provided the big blow, a two-run double in the Illini?s win over Maryland. ? Has a .625 average as a pinch hitter this year (5-for-8) ? Came into the game and blasted pinch-hit two-run home run in the fifth to give the Illini the lead for good in a 4-2 win over Charlotte at the Winthrop Tournament on March 17. ? Drove in four runs at the Sam Houston Tournament. ? Had a double and two RBI in Big Ten semifinal game with Iowa.
