Fighting Illini Volleyball Earns 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois volleyball earned 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award recognition for its work in the classroom, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Thursday.
The award, which began with the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. This year, over 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.
The accolade marks the 15th consecutive season the Fighting Illini program has earned the award, the longest such streak in the Big Ten. During the 2025-26 campaign, nine student-athletes received Academic All-Big Ten honors, while four collected Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors.
