WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Illinois fell to Purdue, 10-5, on Sunday afternoon in the rubber match of its series at Alexander Field.
The Fighting Illini opened the scoring in the top of the first, but the Boilermakers accounted for the remainder of the game's runs as the hosts took the series.
Jack Zebig registered his third home run of the season in the first inning, while Daniel Contreras and J.R. Nelson posted multi-hit games for the Illini.
Sam Reed went three innings in relief, facing only nine batters during his scoreless appearance.
