CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Big Ten announced the 2025 conference schedule on Wednesday. The Fighting Illini will play 20 matches against league opponents beginning on Sept. 26.
The first match of the conference season will take place at Huff Hall as the Illini face off against Oregon. The teams met in the league opener in 2024 as well.
A road trip to Purdue (Sept. 28) and Wisconsin (Oct. 2) awaits the Illini prior to a home match against Michigan State on Oct. 5.
A four-match road swing follows, with the Orange and Blue visiting Maryland (Oct. 10), Rutgers (Oct. 11), Ohio State (Oct. 17) and Northwestern (Oct. 19) over a two-week span.
The team returns home for a rematch with Purdue on Oct. 24 and a match against Michigan the following day.
After a swift trip to Minnesota (Oct. 29), the team hosts Iowa on Nov. 2. The Illini prepare for a clash at Nebraska on Nov. 6 before hosting the defending national champion Penn State on Nov. 9.
Washington visits Champaign for the first time in league play on Nov. 14, a day before a rematch with the Badgers.
The final road matches include a road trip to California as Illinois battles UCLA (Nov. 20) and USC (Nov. 22). The Illini's victory over the ranked Trojans was one of the many highlights from the 2024 campaign.
The final conference clashes of the season begin with Indiana on Nov. 26. A bout against in-state foe Northwestern on Nov. 28 closes out the Illini's regular season.
The 2025 campaign marks the ninth under head coach Chris Tamas. Tamas boasts a 149-94 overall record during his time at the helm.
