CHAMPAIGN, Ill.– The Big Ten Conference has revealed the breakdown of conference opponents for the 2025-26 men's basketball season. For the eighth straight year, Big Ten teams will once again compete in a 20-game conference schedule. The 18-team Big Ten schedule format calls for each school to play three teams both home and away, and 14 teams once; seven home and seven away.
Here is the listing of Illinois' opponents for the 2025-26 Big Ten schedule:
Home Only – Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, Rutgers, Washington, Wisconsin
Away Only – Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, UCLA, USC
Home & Away – Maryland, Nebraska, Northwestern

Illinois is coming off a 22-win season, NCAA Tournament Second Round appearance, and final kenpom ranking of 17th. The Fighting Illini are the winningest team in Big Ten play over the last six years during the Brad Underwood era and stand as one of just four teams nationally with six straight 20-win regular seasons.
