NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Sports Council and ESPN Events announced Illinois volleyball as a participant in the inaugural Broadway Block Party tournament, which will take place August 31, 2025, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
The tournament marks the first women's collegiate volleyball tournament in Bridgestone Arena.
The Fighting Illini will be the third match of the day as the team will take on Vanderbilt. The Commodores will be opening their historic inaugural season. This battle between the teams will be broadcast nationally on SEC Network.
The Big Ten will be well represented at the event with Purdue and Nebraska also in attendance.
The 2025 slate will be the ninth season under head coach Chris Tamas. Tamas owns a 149-94 mark at the helm, including five NCAA Tournament appearances.
