PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 23 Illinois fell to Rutgers on the road, 82-73, on Wednesday night at Jersey Mike's Arena.
Will Riley finished with a team-high 18 points, including 11 points on 2-for-3 shooting from beyond the arc in the second half. Leading the Illini in scoring for the third straight game, Riley also tallied six assists, matching his career high, and grabbed three rebounds.
Morez Johnson Jr. posted his seventh scoring outing in double figures with 11 points in addition to securing five rebounds and an assist.
Ben Humrichous added 14 points and three 3-pointers off the bench while going 4-for-7 from the field in the second half and corralling five rebounds.
Kylan Boswell logged six points, 10 rebounds, and four steals. Tomislav Ivisic collected nine points, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and a steal.
No. 23 Illinois remains on the road to take on Minnesota on Saturday evening. The 5 p.m. CT tilt from Williams Arena is set to air on Big Ten Network.
