COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Illinois swim and dive team completed the second day of the Big Ten Championships on Thursday (Feb. 20). The 200 freestyle relay team of Sydney Stoll, Logan Kuehne, Isabella Wilhelm and Laurel Bludgen splintered the school record (1:30.91) in their 11th-place finish.
Sara Jass qualified to the C finals in the 200 IM with the then third-best time in program history (1:59.08). In the night's finals she went even faster moving up to the second-fastest time in program history (1:58.78) in her 24th-place finish which was also an NCAA B Cut time.
In the time trials Stoll swam the program's second-fastest 50 freestyle (22.77) and Adelaide Reaser swam the program's 10th-fastest 200 IM (2:02.80).
The divers competed on the one-meter boards today led by Bethany Mercer who placed 32nd (236.60), Matilda Garcia placed 33rd (235.05), Dani O'Kelly placed 41st (223.85) and Elle Crisostomo finished 54th (178.60).
Illinois currently sits in 13th place with 105 points after day two action.
