IOWA CITY, Iowa — Illinois swim and dive finished day three of the Hawkeye Invitational Wednesday evening, highlighted by a bronze medal finish from Kayla Duran in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.93).
The 400 medley relay team of Sophia Paduano, Chloe Diner, Sophia Yousuf and Sara Jass finished the evening by taking first in the B final and fifth overall with a time of 3:40.26, placing them third all-time in the Illinois record book. Also in the 400 medley relay, Michelle Kaner, Kayla Duran, Martina Cibulkova and Eva Allan swam a 3:40.93 for eighth overall at the meet and sixth in program history.
Paduano's leadoff time of 54.50 in the 100 backstroke was her best of the day and good for seventh all-time in program history. Kaner catapulted to fourth all-time in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.10 during the morning session.
Jass also finished fourth overall in the 400 IM (4:15.46), followed by Diner in seventh (4:20.57).
On the boards, Matilda Garcia qualified in third for the three-meter dive A final with a score of 301.40. Elle Crisostomo and Elleka Boeres qualified for the three-meter B final with scores of 250.20 and 264.35, respectively. Crisostomo improved her score in the final competition, notching a 272.90.
