IOWA CITY, Iowa — Illinois swim and dive completed day two of the Hawkeye Invitational on Wednesday evening, sitting in fifth place out of nine teams with 307 points.
Senior Sara Jass improved on her own second-best program mark in the 200 IM, earning silver with a time of 1:58.66. Teammate Chloe Diner finished fifth overall (2:00.71), and Sophia Yousuf (2:02.89) and Bella Wojtowicz (2:03.05) finished in 12th and 13th in the 200 IM, respectively.
A host of Illini tallied personal bests in the 50 freestyle prelims, before Isabella Wilhelm went on to win the C final with the seventh-best time in program history (23.01). Liv Dorshorst came in first in the 500 freestyle B final with a time of 4:50.20.
On the boards, Matilda Garcia, Bethany Mercer and Elleka Boeres qualified for final competition in the one-meter dive. Garcia finished in eighth (264.30), Mercer in 12th (253.65) and Boeres in 15th (245.25).
