CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois swim and dive returns to the state of Iowa for its midseason meet, Nov. 18-21. Iowa will host the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, at the CRWC University Aquatic Center. In addition to the Fighting Illini, the Hawkeyes welcome UConn, Iowa State, Kansas, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Northern Iowa and Washington State for the four-day event.Â
The full meet schedule can be found here. Tuesday's events are slated to begin at 6 p.m. CT, while the following three days of competition will begin at 10 a.m. CT. All sessions will stream on YouTube and results will be available on MeetMobile.
Illinois is undefeated this season, tallying a pair of victories over fellow Hawkeye Invitational participant Iowa State before going on to best Illinois State, Southern Illinois, Indiana State and Vanderbilt. Fall highlights included the 400 medley relay team of Sophia Paduano, Kayla Duran, Chloe Diner and Eva Allan adding the eighth-best time in program history (3:41.79) and Matilda Garcia also contributing an eighth-best program score in the one-meter dive (288.98), both on the second day of the House of Paign Invite.
Last season at the Hawkeye Invitational, the Illini amassed 987.5 points to finish fourth of nine teams, with Chloe Diner setting three school records in the 200 IM (1:58.32), 100 breaststroke (1:01.07) and as part of the 400 medley relay alongside Sophia Paduano, Kayla Duran and Sydney Stoll (3:39.20). Diner's 200 IM record still stands today. Nebraska emerged victorious in the 2024 meet with 1,368 points.
