CHAMPAIGN, Ill.– Illinois head coach Brad Underwood announced Wednesday the signing of Landon Davis to a Big Ten Athletics Scholarship Agreement. Davis will join the Fighting Illini program as a freshman in 2026-27. Â
Davis is a 6-foot-9, 215-pound forward from Waukee, Iowa. He is a three-star recruit, ranked No. 146 nationally in the class of 2026 by Rivals. Davis is the No. 25-rated power forward by Rivals and No. 34 by 247Sports composite, and he checks in as the No. 4 player in the state of Iowa by Rivals and No. 5 by 247Sports.
Davis attends Waukee Northwest High School, where he primarily plays center for head coach Brett Watson. He averaged 10.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 blocks and 2.9 assists as a junior, earning fourth-team All-State honors. Davis helped lead the Wolves to a 23-4 record and runner-up finish in the 2025 Iowa Class 4A state tournament.
Davis also impressed on the AAU circuit, playing with Iowa United. He averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game in the Adidas 3SSB, shooting 61% from the floor and 40% from 3-point range.
"Landon is a physical player with tremendous athleticism and mobility who can play both inside and out," Underwood said. "He brings great positional versatility in the frontcourt. Landon has been well-coached, is an elite passer and processor, and overall is just a terrific young man with a bright future as he continues to develop."
