Team Orange Takes the Crown in Intrasquad Meet

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois swimming and diving completed its annual intrasquad meet on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the ARC Pool. Team Orange took the victory at a score of 118-107.

The meet began with Team Blue's Michelle Kaner, Chloe Diner, Marin McAndrew and Isabella Wilhelm taking the victory in the 200 medley relay. Team Orange got on the board in the very next event, the 150 freestyle, with Liv Dorshorst taking the crown.

Sophia Paduano brought home the 100 backstroke for the Orange. Diner won her second event of the day for blue, dominating the 100 breaststroke.

The Orange breezed through the next three events — the 400 freestyle relay, 100 IM (Sara Jass) and 300 freestyle (Taylor Judas). Team Blue took four more victories throughout the day, the 100 butterfly (Sophia Yousuf), 75 breaststroke (Kalina Nikolaeva), and the one and three meter dives (Rose and Elleka Boeres). Meanwhile, Orange's Allan, Paduano, Adler, and Stephanie Kirova took the 200 freestyle relay, the third and final relay of the day, and Sara Jass took victory in the 50 freestyle.
