The Fighting Illini swimming and diving team opened the 2025-26 season with a pair of dual wins over Iowa State on back-to-back days last weekend in Ames, Iowa. Sara Jass was key to the Illini's victories, claiming a pair of event crowns in each win. In Friday's 121-65 win, Jass took first in the 200 freestyle (1:52.35) and 200 IM (2:02.10). The next day, she helped the Illini to a 123-82 victory with wins in the 100 freestyle (51.92) and 400 IM (4:22.44).
Jass is a senior from Geneva, Ill., majoring in kinesiology.
