CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois head coach Tyra Perry announced the addition of Megan Nuechterlein to the Fighting Illini roster. The Kent State transfer joins 10 newcomers for the 2025 campaign.

Notes: Transfer from Kent State… Posted 18-12 record with a 3.80 ERA as a freshman… Team leader with 38 appearances, 23 games started, 12 complete games, 165.2 innings pitched… Recorded career-high seven strikeouts versus Central Michigan (4/30/24)… Named MAC Pitcher of the Week (4/23/24) after a 4-0 performance with a 0.93 ERA and 21 punchouts in 30 innings pitched… Prior to Kent State, attended Macomb Dakota High School, where she earned all-state honors on three separate occasions… Won the 2022 State Champs Michigan Player of the Year… Enjoys swimming and spending time with friends and family...
