Champaign, ILL.– The Big Ten Conference has revealed the breakdown of conference opponents for the 2024-25 men's basketball season. For the seventh straight year, Big Ten teams will once again compete in a 20-game conference schedule. With the addition of UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington, the 18-team Big Ten schedule format now calls for each school to play three teams both home and away, and 14 teams once (seven home and seven away).

Here is the listing of Illinois' opponents for the 2025 Big Ten schedule:

Home Only – Iowa, Maryland, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, UCLA, USC,
Away Only – Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, Rutgers, Washington
Home & Away – Michigan State, Northwestern, Wisconsin

Illinois is the Big Ten's winningest team in conference play over the last five years with a 69-31 record. Under head coach Brad Underwood the Fighting Illini have won Big Ten Championships in three of the last four years, have made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, and are one of just five teams to post five straight 20-win regular seasons. Illinois is coming off its third-most wins in school history in 2024, a Big Ten Tournament title, and an NCAA Elite Eight appearance, the program's first since 2005. Illinois finished the season ranked No. 6 in the AP poll, its second-top 10 finish in the last four years of the Underwood era.
