CHAMPAIGN, Ill. --Â Illinois baseball (7-11) dropped the series finale to Southern Indiana (9-10), 8-3, today at Illinois Field.
Logan Tabeling got the ball to start for the Illini and would take the loss. The senior allowed one run on two hits over 5.0 innings of work, striking out four.
Brody Harding led the way offensively, who went 1-for-3 on the day with run, home run, three RBI and a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Screaming Eagles got on the board in the first with a run and the padded the lead with three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh, taking a 6-0 lead.
The Illini cut the lead in half on Harding's three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh, making it a 6-3 contest.
Southern Indiana would add a run in both the eighth in the ninth, handing the Illini the 8-3 defeat.Â
