CHAMPAIGN, Ill.– Illinois continues its three-game homestand to open the season, hosting SIUE on Friday at 7 p.m. at State Farm Center.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and be in their seats by 6:30 p.m., as Illinois will hold a pregame ceremony celebrating the 2024 NCAA Elite Eight and Big Ten Tournament Championship.
Rings will be presented to returning players, coaches, managers, and staff in recognition of Illinois' stellar 2023-24 season that ended with 29 victories, the third-winningest season in school history. Illinois claimed its third conference championship in the last four years, capturing the 2024 Big Ten Tournament (BTT) crown in Minneapolis as Brad Underwood became the first Illini coach to win multiple BTT titles. Illinois earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and won three games, including a victory over No. 2 seed Iowa State in the Sweet 16, to advance to the NCAA East Regional Final. It marked the program's first Elite Eight appearance since 2005.
The ceremony will include remarks from Underwood and conclude with the unveiling and raising of the 2024 season banner in recognition of the Elite Eight run and Big Ten Tournament title.
State Farm Center doors open 90 minutes prior to game time.
For those unable to attend, the pregame ceremony will also be streamed live on FightingIllini.com.
