OXFORD, Miss. – Illinois fell to No. 24 Ole Miss, 91-74, in a charity exhibition game at SJB Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. Net proceeds from the preseason contest benefitted CASA of North Mississippi.
Head coach Brad Underwood used the exhibition to give playing time to 13 student-athletes, while 10 players made their Illinois debuts. Kylan Boswell, Ben Humrichous, Tomislav Ivisic, Kasparas Jakucionis, and Tre White all made their first appearances for the Orange and Blue and featured in the starting lineup for the visiting Fighting Illini.
Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn finished with a team-high 15 points off the bench, shooting 6-for-10 from the field and 3-for-6 from 3-point range.
Jakucionis also scored in double figures, totaling 12 points, six rebounds, five assists, and one block. Ivisic tallied 12 points, six boards, two assists, and one steal.
Illinois will open its 2024-25 regular-season schedule at State Farm Center on Monday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. CT against Eastern Illinois. Tickets are still available at FightingIllini.com.
