CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Illinois baseball announced today its 2025 Big Ten schedule, in conjunction with the conference. The upcoming Big Ten schedule features a 30-game slate for the first time ever, expanding from 24.
Conference play begins on March 7 and runs through May 17, with the Big Ten Tournament set to be played at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
The 2024 Big Ten champion Fighting Illini begin their title defense vs. Michigan (March 7-9) in Vero Beach, Fla.
Illinois remains on the road with trips to Northwestern (March 21-23) and Michigan State (March 28-30) before welcoming Maryland (April 4-6) and Indiana (April 11-13) to Illinois Field.
The Illini then head to Seattle to take on Big Ten newcomer Washington (April 18-20) before facing Purdue (April 25-27) in Champaign. The Orange and Blue swept the Boilermakers in West Lafayette in the final weekend of the 2024 season to secure the program's first conference title since 2015.
Illinois then heads out east to play Rutgers (May 2-4) and closes the home conference slate vs. UCLA (May 9-11).
The Illini conclude Big Ten play with a trip to Ohio State (May 15-17).
Dan Hartleb, the winningest coach in program history, enters his 20th season at the helm with a career record of 567-419-1.
