ROSEMONT, Ill. – Illinois freshman swimmer Chloe Diner was named as the Big Ten Freshman of the Week the conference announced on Wednesday (Oct. 16). She's the first Illinois Freshman of the Week since Megan Vuong on Oct. 28, 2015.
Diner made an immediate impact in the swimming lineup in her very first competition in the Orange and Blue. She took home the 500 freestyle event win on a time of 5:02.26 marking her first individual event win of her young career; she later added another event win in the 200 IM (2:03.08). In addition, she was on the winning 200 medley relay team with a split of 28.50.
