CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The second non-conference schedule of the Shauna Green era at Illinois has been announced and features seven home games for the Fighting Illini. In addition to the previously announced game against Notre Dame, the Illinois women's basketball squad will head to the West Palm Beach Classic while playing one true road game at Marquette.
The Fighting Illini will host Truman State for an exhibition on Monday, Oct. 30, an event that will be open to the public and offer a first look of this season's squad. Illinois will also play its season opener inside State Farm Center as Morehead State visits on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
On Nov. 11, the Illini will head north for a road game at Marquette in Milwaukee. Illinois will return home for a midweek against Saint Peter's on Nov. 15 before hitting the road for the Citi Shamrock Classic against Notre Dame in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 18.
From there, Illinois' next four non-conference games are at home, with Canisius (Nov. 26), Central Connecticut State (Nov. 29), Northern Kentucky (Dec. 6), and Missouri (Dec. 17) coming to town.
Regular-season non-conference play will wrap up from Dec. 20-21 in Florida, as the Orange and Blue compete in the West Palm Beach Classic. A separate announcement will be made when the opponents and schedule for the event are finalized.
Illinois' full Big Ten schedule will be released at a later date. Home and road matchups for the 18-game schedule were announced in June.

Following a 2022-23 season that saw the Illini make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 20 years and secure their most wins (22) in a single campaign since 1999-2000, there's no better time to support Illinois and the new #OneWay Forward campaign.
In Year 1 under Shauna Green, Illinois women's basketball delivered one of the largest one-year turnarounds across the NCAA. Green led the squad to a 22-10 overall record after taking over a program that had gone 7-20 the season prior. The Illini were ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since the 2000-01 campaign. In the stands, Illinois secured the fifth-best single-season home attendance in program history during the 2022-23 campaign, and Green became the first head coach to bring in 50,000+ fans during her first season at the helm.
The 2022-23 regular season saw Illinois post a 10-1 record in non-conference play, marking just the third time in program history the Illini registered double-digit regular-season out-of-conference victories in a single campaign.
