FAN COUNCIL APPLICATIONS | FAN COUNCIL INFORMATION

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics is now accepting applications for membership on the 2023 Class of the Fighting Illini Fan Council. The DIA is looking for passionate members of the Illinois FamILLy that represent various viewpoints, backgrounds, and perspectives to help improve the Illinois Athletics experience. The DIA is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion on the fan council and encourages Illini fans from all minority groups to apply.

Members of this year's group will join more than 20 existing members from the previous three classes. The fan council serves two purposes -- to provide fans a platform to express their ideas and opinions surrounding Fighting Illini Athletics, and to empower them with information about the department to help educate their circle of Illini friends. The groups will include donors, season-ticket holders, single-game ticket buyers, students and alumni.

The primary focus of the Fighting Illini Fan Council is to address specific issues the department faces directly impacting the fan. Initiatives range from game day experiences, fan engagement strategies, communication campaigns, and spirit and traditions.

During the 2023-24 year, the council will meet three times in Champaign surrounding athletics events and will supplement with virtual meetings monthly. Council members are asked to commit to attending the in-person meetings. The term of the fan council is four years.

The kickoff meeting will take place on Friday, Sept. 1 prior to the Illinois football opener against Toledo. The Winter meeting will take place on a basketball gameday in December and the final event of the year will be in April during Illini Spring Sports Fest weekend.

The Fighting Illini Fan Council will accept 20 members in 2023-24. To apply, fans must complete the following application.
