CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Volleyball Canada announced the roster for the 2023 Girls' U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup. Illinois freshman Taylor de Boer was selected to the 12-person roster and is set to represent her home country at the event taking place from May 7-15, 2023, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
de Boer signed with Fighting Illini volleyball last fall and joined the team during the spring semester of 2023. The British Columbia native was one of four athletes to sign with the program, joining Lily Barry, Gabby Dean and Maya Imoto-Eakin.
No stranger to the international stage, de Boer trained with Team Canada Junior Team from 2021-22. The outside hitter was named Canadian Junior Team U19 Captain in 2022.
de Boer will not be the only Illini volleyball member headed to the U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup. Earlier this week, USA Volleyball announced Krista Hendrickson as an assistant coach at the event.
