ST. LOUIS, Mo. --Â Terrence Shannon Jr. scored 30 points and Quincy Guerrier added 28 and the 13th-ranked Illinois men's basketball team beat the Missouri Tigers, 97-73, in the 43rd annual Braggni' Rights game at Enterprise Center Friday.
The Fighting Illini (9-2) had four players score in double figures, led by Shannon Jr., who secured a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Guerrier tacked on 28 points and eight rebounds and Coleman Hawkins chipped in with 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals.
Illinois collected 51 rebounds in Friday's game compared to Missouri's 35, led by Shannon Jr.'s 11 boards. The Fighting Illini also put in work on the offensive glass, turning 16 rebounds into 21 second chance points.
Illinois' defense held Missouri to only 39.2 percent shooting from the field, including 22.2 percent from beyond the arc.
