CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini wrestling squad finished competition in their return to Huff Hall on Saturday, Nov. 4 against Navy; the Illini fell 18-23 to the Midshipmen. True freshman Kannon Webster made his Illini debut and lit up the scoreboard with his tech. fall win over James Latona (NAVY), 20-5 (5:57).
Redshirt senior Justin Cardani earned the first overtime win of the year for the Illini. It took him 33 seconds in the overtime period to earn the sudden-victory over Evan Tallmadge (NAVY), 6-3.
Redshirt junior Luke Luffman earned his second major decision of the season; he picked the ankle of Grady Griess (NAVY) right before the horn to earn the bonus point, 11-3. Junior Joe Roberts battled his way to a 4-2 decision over Jonathan Ley (NAVY). Today's attendance was 338.

The Illinois grapplers are back in action on Sunday, Nov. 19 for two duals against Central Michigan (CMU) an North Carolina (UNC) in Huff Hall. CMU and UNC will face off first at noon and the Illini face CMU at 2 p.m. and UNC at 4 p.m. CT.
