QUOTES

Kendall Bostic

On learning from the loss:

"We had a really good practice yesterday. The energy was all there. Everyone was doing well, so we're working on it, just trying to figure out kind of what it is and how to get over it quickly. Obviously, it's not producing the outcomes we want. I think it's just something within ourselves as a team that we need to figure out. I think we need to hold ourselves accountable individually and as a group, but we'll get through it. We'll be fine, and we'll be back to how we're doing."

On playing as the hunted rather than the underdog:

"Teams have a different mentality coming into play you. Initially, a lot of the teams were still kind of like, 'Oh, it's Illinois from last year.' I feel like we've earned a little bit of our respect now, so these teams know this is a different team, and they come in with a different mentality. We got to be able to match that. Coming in and being the underdog is very different than coming in and being the hunted. It's a whole different kind of mindset, so I think we've just got to be able to shift gears a little bit and stay in that mindset. I feel like we kind of got away from it a little bit. Initially, once we got ranked, we were like, 'Oh yeah, we're ranked,' which is great, but we got to be able to maintain that for the rest of season. The season's long, and we can't just do it for three weeks and pick and choose when we want to."
