Champaign, Ill. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recognized the Illinois swimming and diving program as a Scholar All-America Team. They attained this honor with a cumulative grade point average of 3.53. This placed them 84th out of 172 Division I women's programs, 97th out of all 278 Division I men/women's programs mentioned. There were 731 teams selected across 441 colleges for the Spring 2022 semester {Complete List}.Â
CSCAA Executive Director, Greg Earhart, mentioned Illinois' achievement noting "Coach Novitsky has done a great job setting a standard of academic excellence during her time at Illinois. I am excited to see Coach Kempe take the lead with this program and build on these achievements."
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA, is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
