CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois women's tennis team will wrap up its regular season home slate and celebrate Senior Day on Sunday (April 17) at Atkins Tennis Center as the Illini welcome in Northwestern for a 12 p.m. CT match.

The Illini will honor senior Shivani Ingle and senior manager Madison Scaggs prior to the match. There will also be coffee, hot chocolate and donuts for fans in attendance.
Last Time Out
The Illinois women's tennis team is coming off a split weekend as the Illini earned a 4-2 win over Purdue last Friday in Atkins Tennis Center, before dropping a tight 4-3 contest at Penn State on Sunday. Freshman Megan Heuser turned in an undefeated weekend with a pair of singles wins and a doubles victory with sophomore partner Kate Duong. Junior Ashley Yeah and freshman Kasia Treiber also posted undefeated weekends in singles action.
Illini vs. the Field
The Illini trail in the all-time series with the Wildcats, 9-55, but broke a 20-match winless streak with a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over the then-No. 7 Wildcats at the Atkins Tennis Center on Senior Day a season ago.

- Illinois is 13-7 on the season and 6-2 in the Big Ten and owns a 10-1 record at home in Atkins Tennis Center in 2022, with its lone loss coming outside.
- Illinois owns an all-time record of 261-226 (.536) in the Big Ten Conference.
- Entering the weekend, Illinois is ranked No. 51 in the most recent ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Women's team rankings, with the Wildcats sitting at No. 37 in the rankings.
- The No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams of sophomore Kate Duong and freshman Megan Heuser and juniors Ashley Yeah and Josie Frazier, respectively, lead the Illini with identical 11-6 records.
- Junior Emily Casati and freshman Kasia Treiber own a 5-5 record at No. 3 doubles, with Casati has also teamed up with freshman Kida Ferrari for one win on court three.
- Individually, Yeah leads the way with a 13-5 record on court two, with Heuser (11-6) and Treiber (11-5) each owning 11 wins on the season. Duong joins the trio in double figures with a 10-7 mark at No. 1 singles.
- Treiber paces UI with seven wins in league play and owns a 7-1 record, while Yeah and Heuser are right behind her with a 6-2 mark.
- All eight players have registered at least one singles win in 2022.
- Yeah brought home Big Ten Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors on March 22 after posting a 4-0 record in her matches, including two wins with doubles partner and classmate Josie Frazier at No. 2 doubles and a pair of singles wins on court two. It was the first career Athlete of the Week for Yeah and the first for the Illini since Mia Rabinowitz took home the honor on Feb. 18, 2020.
- Head coach Evan Clark is in his sixth year as the head of Illinois women's tennis and owns an overall record of 94-65 (.591) and is 48-24 (.667) in the Big Ten Conference.
- The Illini are coming off a 9-9 Big Ten Conference-only season in 2021.
- The Illini return five players from last season, including senior Ingle, juniors Casati, Frazier and Yeah and sophomore Duong.
- Illinois welcomes in three freshmen in 2022 with the addition of Heuser, Ferrari and Treiber.
