CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Several former Illini were in action in the pro ranks this weekend, highlighted by a top-10 finish on the DP World Tour from Thomas Detry.
Detry, competing at the Ras al Khaimah Championship presented by Phoenix Capital, stormed out to an impressive start with an opening round of 66.
Detry followed his 66 with rounds of 69-67-71 to finish at -15 in a share of ninth place to capture his 27th top-10 finish in the last six seasons on the DP World Tour.
Stateside, D.A. Points, one of the Illini program's most experienced pros was joined in the field at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am by the Orange and Blue's newest PGA Tour member, Nick Hardy.
Points – who earned his first-career PGA Tour victory at the same event in 2011 – was paired once again with comedy legend and Bill Murray, also his playing partner from 11 years prior.

While Points teed off with undoubtedly one of the event's most popular amateurs, Hardy was paired with one of the most powerful in Nike CEO John Donahoe.
Looking Ahead
While the PGA Tour schedule turns towards the upcoming Waste Management Phoenix Open, Detry will once again be in the DP World Tour field at The Ras Al Khaimah Classic, Feb. 10-13, at Al Hamra Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. On the Korn Ferry Tour, former Illini Luke Guthrie is will tee off at the Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard, held at the Country Club de Bogota in Bogota, Colombia.
