Student Manager Redd Joins Illini Roster

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.– University of Illinois freshman AJ Redd, who previously worked with the men's basketball program as an on-court manager, has been added to the Fighting Illini roster.

Redd is a 6-3 guard who played four years of varsity basketball at Chicago's St. Ignatius College Prep, helping lead the Wolfpack to a third-place finish at the 2022 IHSA Class 3A state championships.

He is St. Ignatius' No. 4 all-time leading scorer (1,109 points) and the Wolfpack career leader in rebounds (523), assists (293) and steals (111).

Redd is majoring in business.
