CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois women's gymnastics grabs the No. 23 rank in the country in the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) preseason poll for the 2023 season. 

Illinois is coming off a 197.375 overall score at the NCAA Regionals – their highest score of 2022 and the second-highest score in program history. The Illini started the 2022 season with the same rank and ended the season in the No. 19 hole before going to the NCAA Seattle Regionals. 

"Each year when the season rankings come out, I take a look and then quickly move on and get back to training and preparing my team," head coach Nadalie Walsh said. "I am excited to coach my team to even greater heights with this new dynamic staff. We finished No. 19 last year and have big goals to finish even better this year."

The Orange and Blue were also 11-6 overall and 4-5 in conference matchups.
