CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois women's tennis team earned a doubleheader sweep with a 7-0 win over Eastern Illinois, before blanking Chicago State, 4-0, on Sunday (January 23) at Atkins Tennis Center.
After falling to then-No. 11 Baylor in its season opener, the Illini have won four-straight for a 4-1 overall record in the young season.
"I'm proud of the way they handled the day," said head coach Evan Clark. "It's not an easy day for anyone, playing two matches back-to-back. It was a good indicator that they're in good shape and they handled the situation very, very well. We're pleased to get two wins today."
