Champaign, Ill. – Illinois announced its non-conference schedule on Monday, featuring a number of high-profile games in preparation for league play.

Illinois will host 19 games at State Farm Center this season: 10 Big Ten contests, seven non-conference tilts, and two exhibition tune-ups. Season tickets and mobile passes are on sale now to the general public. Tickets can be purchased online at FightingIllini.com or by phone at 866-ILLINI-1.

Following exhibition games on Oct. 23 and Dad's Day Weekend on Oct. 29, Illinois officially begins the 2021-22 season with two more match-ups at State Farm Center, opening the season on Nov. 9 against Jackson State and taking on Arkansas State on Nov. 12.

The Illini then play three straight games away from home, traveling to Marquette on Nov. 15 for the Gavitt Tipoff Games and competing in the Hall of Fame Classic at Kansas City's T-Mobile Center Nov. 22-23, facing Cincinnati and either Arkansas or Kansas State.

Illinois returns to action at home after Thanksgiving, hosting Texas Rio Grande Valley on Friday, Nov. 26. The Illini then welcome Notre Dame to Champaign on Nov. 29 for the 23rd annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

After the first two games of Big Ten play, Illinois' non-conference schedule resumes with a marquee Saturday showdown against Arizona on Dec. 11 at State Farm Center, followed by another Saturday home game versus St. Francis (Pa.) on Dec. 18.

After a one-year interruption, the Braggin' Rights series returns to its traditional neutral-site setting in St. Louis, with the annual rivalry game against Missouri set for Dec. 22 at Enterprise Center.

Non-conference play concludes after the holidays, with Illinois hosting Florida A&M on Dec. 29.

Head Coach Brad Underwood's fifth Illini squad returns three starters and six of its top nine players from last year's rotation. Led by national player of the year candidate Kofi Cockburn, 2021 Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year Andre Curbelo, and fifth-year starters Trent Frazier, Da'Monte Williams and Jacob Grandison, Illinois welcomes back 63% of its minutes, 60% of its points, and 69% of its rebounds while adding standout transfers and a top-25 ranked recruiting class to the mix.

Illinois is coming off a 24-7 campaign, including a 16-4 mark in conference play followed by the Big Ten Tournament championship and No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Illinois set school records with 19 victories against Big Ten competitors and six wins over top-10 teams. Illinois ended the year at No. 2 in the AP poll, the second-highest final ranking in program history.

Illinois' Big Ten home schedule includes the following 10 teams: Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers and Wisconsin. The full conference schedule will be released when available.
