
Volleyball 101 Event Open to Networkers, Spike Squad on Saturday

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A select group of fans will get their first chance to see the Illinois volleyball team in action for the 2021 season as the Illini host an exclusive Volleyball 101 event, open only to Illini Networkers and Spike Squad members on Saturday, August 21.
Head coach Chris Tamas will lead a narrated practice and scrimmage at Huff Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. CT as the team wraps up its second week of preseason camp. Per current campus policy, all University of Illinois students, faculty, staff and visitors must wear a mask in university spaces indoors, regardless of vaccination status, including Huff Hall during Illinois volleyball matches and events.
For fans who are not yet members of the Illini Networkers, one of the premier women's volleyball support groups in the country, or you have yet to renew your membership for the 2021 season, fans can join or renew at the door on Saturday. The Illini are set to open the season with the Panther Invite in Milwaukee, Wis., and will kick off the 2021 schedule against UC Santa Barbara and tournament host Milwaukee on Friday, Aug. 27, before taking on Valparaiso on Saturday, Aug. 28.
