URBANA, Ill. – The Illinois Fighting Illini women's tennis squad will be on the road this weekend for two conference matches. On Friday, March 26 at 12:00 p.m. they will be in Madison, Wisc., to take on the Badgers of Wisconsin at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium. On Sunday they will head to Minneapolis, Minn., to face off against the Minnesota Gophers at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 28 in the Baseline Tennis Center. Live stats and video are set to be available each day from the host teams. Live video will only be available if the matches are played indoors.

Last Time Out

Last weekend the Illini won two home matches over Indiana and Purdue.

On Saturday they dominated the Hoosiers 7-0, led by wins on all singles courts. Sophomore Emily Casati got her first start of the year and took the win on court six filling in for senior Sasha Belaya.

Sunday's match was more competitive, with Illinois eventually securing the 4-3 victory. Senior Asuka Kawai came through in the clutch with a three-set win on court one to clinch the Illini win.

Scouting Wisconsin

Wisconsin enters the weekend with a 7-6 record (6-5 B1G) after dropping two matches last weekend to Nebraska and Iowa.

Earlier this season, the Illini faced off against the Badgers in Champaign, falling 4-3. Illinois has won eight of the last ten matchups and leads the all-time series by a 21-3 margin.

Scouting Minnesota

Minnesota enters the weekend with a 3-8 record (3-8 B1G) and arrives in Urbana also following two losses to Iowa and Nebraska last weekend.

Illinois and Purdue faced each other earlier this year on February 28, where the Illini took the 4-3 victory at Atkins Tennis Center. Illinois has won seven of the last ten matchups and leads the all-time series 18-4.
