Hello Illini Nation!
We have completed the fall season for 2021-22! Our last tournament was the Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, North Carolina. We had an amazing time at this tournament. We were able to enjoy the company of many wonderful Illini supporters who we were so fortunate to meet. The golf course was in great shape with incredible views of the bodies of water nearby. The windy conditions offered unique challenges that we were able to learn from and use throughout the tournament. Each day, our team was able to progress up the leaderboard. We ended the tournament finishing eighth in a very competitive field. Our own Crystal Wang had an impressive tournament coming in third place overall with a score of four-under. We really enjoyed the experience we had at the Landfall Tradition!
Looking back at our fall season, we were fortunate to have experienced many different playing conditions in all of our tournaments. We played at venues that varied in the types of layouts, grass, and green complexes. We played in strong winds as well as heavy rain. I believe the diverse playing conditions we had this fall season will aid us in our preparations for the spring season. Going into the spring season, we have the knowledge we gained during the fall and are putting it into action. We will be able to rely on our experience and be prepared for anything that comes our way. I personally had an amazing time this fall season because I was able to play at tournaments and venues that I was not able to play before. I too benefited greatly from this season and cannot wait to use what I learned to prepare for the spring. We are looking forward to being able to compete again as a team in the spring season!
