Siyan Chen Finishes in Third at China LPGA Event

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois' Siyan Chen fired a career-low and tournament-low 64 (-8) in the second round of the China LPGA's Zhuhai Hollywood Mansion Challenge to finish in third place of the professional event. Chen, the low amateur, carded a 135 total (71-64), two strokes off the lead at Orient Zhuhai Golf Club's 6,162-yard, par-72 layout.
Chen's impressive second round was highlighted by two 30+-foot birdie putts. The rising Illini sophomore finished with eight birdies in the bogey-free round, with four birdies each on the front and back nine after posting a -1 (71) in the first round.
Ruoning Yin won the event with a 133 (67-66), two strokes ahead of Chen.
