Illini Basketball Attendance Once Again in Top 25

News

Illinois ranked 24th nationally in men's basketball home attendance during the 2019-20 season, averaging 13,041 fans across 18 games at State Farm Center for a total of 234,730 spectators passing through the turnstiles.

Illinois played in front of sellout crowds in five of its final six home games. That surge during conference play helped propel the Orange and Blue to its highest average attendance in the last five years, since the renovation of State Farm Center changed capacity to 15,544.

Illinois has seen its attendance figures increase for three straight seasons, each year of head coach Brad Underwood's tenure.

This marks the 43rd time the Fighting llini have finished in the top 25 in home attendance – dating to the start of NCAA attendance records in 1970 – including 40 of the last 42 seasons.

The Big Ten, meanwhile, averaged 12,709 fans per game to lead all conferences in average attendance for a 44th consecutive season. Nearly three million fans attended B1G games in 2019-20.
