CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 23 Fighting Illini host No. 18 Iowa Sunday night at State Farm Center (6 p.m. CT on BTN) in what will be the final home game for four Illini seniors. Andres Feliz, Kipper Nichols, Samson Oladimeji and Tyler Underwood will be honored prior to the game against the Hawkeyes. The Senior Night ceremony will take place about 20 minutes prior to tip time, so fans are encouraged to arrive before 5:40 p.m. to show their appreciation for the senior class.
The 2020 Senior Class has played a big role in the turnaround of Illinois Basketball, as the Illini currently own the largest turnaround (+9.5) among schools from the six major conferences this year, going from 12-21 to 20-10 entering the final weekend of the regular season.
» Andres Feliz has played in all 63 games during his two-year Illini career, amassing 602 points, 200 rebounds and 162 assists entering the final weekend of play. He is third on the team in scoring this season, averaging 10.9 points, and at 6'2" is the team's second-leading rebounder with an average of 5.2 boards. Feliz scored a career-high 26 points in last year's home win over Northwestern, and on Thursday at Ohio State equaled his career high with 11 rebounds. Feliz will graduate with a degree in sociology.
» Kipper Nichols is the lone four-year scholarship player in the Fighting Illini program. He has played in 115 career games, recording 696 points and 338 rebounds. Nichols set career highs in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore, with 31 points against Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament and 11 rebounds vs. Marshall. Nichols will graduate with a degree in advertising.
» Samson Oladimeji is in his fourth year with the Illini after joining the team as a walk-on. He has played in 34 career games, scoring six points. Oladimeji is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and will graduate with a degree in community health.
» Tyler Underwood is in his third year in the Illini program. After sitting out his first year, he has played in 32 games over the last two seasons, totaling 12 points and eight assists. Underwood received a bachelor's degree in sociology last August and is now set to earn a master's in recreation, sport and tourism.
There's a lot at stake on Sunday between the Illini (20-10, 12-7) and Hawkeyes (20-10, 11-8), as the winner will get a coveted double-bye for next week's Big Ten Tournament. The Illini also enter the weekend still in the hunt for a share of the Big Ten regular season title, sitting one game back of Maryland, Michigan State and Wisconsin, as all three teams are 13-6 with one game to play.
