CHAMPAIGN – Fighting Illini women's basketball and head coach Nancy Fahey announced the addition of Kennedi Myles to the program on Thursday. A 6-foot-2 forward, Myles will come to Champaign from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was a standout at Walnut Hills High School.

"Kennedi has an exceptional work ethic both on and off the court," Fahey said. "She is a great leader and a proven winner; her ability to score multiple ways as a front court player and her tenacity for rebounding and defense will be great attributions to our team.  We are extremely excited to add Kennedi Myles to our roster for the 2019-20 season."

A two-year captain at Walnut Hills, Myles is a two-time Eastern Cincinnati Conference Player of the Year (2016-17, 2017-18) and was recognized as an All-Eastern Cincinnati Conference player four times in her career. She helped lead Walnut Hills to three-straight Eastern Cincinnati Conference titles and took the squad to the third round of the OHSAA tournament as a senior. She averaged 13.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.5 blocked shots and 3.0 steals per game during her senior season, also leading the Eastern Cincinnati Conference in rebounding. She is a McDonalds All-American nominee, and participated in the 2019 OHSAA North-South All-Star game.

"As soon as I arrived on campus I immediately fell in love," Myles said of choosing Illinois. "The academics and campus life are amazing. After meeting the staff and players I had an unwavering belief that Illinois was the right place for me."

Also an honorable mention All-State honoree and 2018-19 Cincinnati Enquirer Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky second team member, Myles will join the Orange and Blue for the 2019-20 campaign.
