CHAMPAIGN - Fighting Illini men's golf will travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the NCAA Myrtle Beach Regional, May 13-15. Hosted by Coastal Carolina University and the Myrtle Beach Regional Sports Alliance, the regional championship will be held at TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. The Orange and Blue have now qualified for an NCAA Regional in each of the last 12 seasons.

The 23rd-ranked Illini will play one round of 18 holes each day at TPC Myrtle Beach's 6,950-yard, Par 72 Course. TPC Myrtle Beach has played host to the Senior PGA Tour Championship, and was awarded five stars by Golf Digest magazine.

Illinois earned the No. 4 seed in the regional field and will be joined by 13 other teams in Myrtle Beach, including Wake Forest, California, Texas Tech, Florida State, UNLV, Oregon, Ohio State, Northwestern, Oregon State, Cal State Fullerton, Middle Tennessee, VCU and Robert Morris.

The low five teams and low individual not on a qualifying team from each of the six NCAA regional sites will advance to compete at the NCAA Championships at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas, May 24-29.

Illinois is coming off of its fifth consecutive Big Ten Championship victory and the 17th in program history. Freshman Adrien Dumont de Chassart earned Big Ten Individual Co-Medalist honors, and became the ninth consecutive Big Ten Championship medalist from Illinois.

In school history, the Orange and Blue have won four NCAA Regional titles and the Illini have seen three individuals combine for four NCAA Regional individual titles in the past 10 seasons. UI is one of just two schools to have won four straight Regional Championships, and was the first school to do so since the early 1990s (Arizona, 1990-1993). Illinois is one of 14 schools to have won four or more regional titles overall. Oklahoma State leads the way, however, as the Cowboys have garnered 13 NCAA Regional titles in school history.

The Orange and Blue have qualified for the NCAA National Championship in each of the last 11 seasons, which marks the second-longest active streak in the nation; Texas has qualified for 12 consecutive seasons. The Illini have finished among the top five at the National Championship in five of the last six years and in six of the past eight seasons. Since the format was adopted in 2009, the Illini, along with Oklahoma, have made the most appearances in the match play portion of the NCAA Championships with six.
