
The United Center: Illinois’ Home Away from Home

CHICAGO – Since it opened in 1994, the United Center has been a home away from home for the Fighting Illini. This week's Big Ten Tournament returns to the "Madhous on Madison" with the Illini opening first-round play against Northwestern Wednesday night.
It will be 54th game the Illini for the Illini at the United Center, dating back to the 1994-95 season. Illinois owns an all-time record of 37-16 (.698) at United Center, including a 16-7 mark in the Big Ten Tournament.
Both of Illinois' Big Ten Tournament titles have come at United Center, in 2003 and 2005.
The tournament will be a homecoming for many Illini, with Ayo Dosunmu (Chicago), Aaron Jordan (Plainfield), Drew Cayce (Libertyville) and Samson Oladimeji (Rolling Meadows) all hailing from the Chicagoland area.
