The bracket is set for the 2019 Big Ten Tournament. The 22nd annual event will be contested March 13-17 at United Center in Chicago.
The Fighting Illini (11-20, 7-13) are the No. 11 seed and will face No. 14 seed Northwestern (13-18, 4-16) in the first round on Wednesday, March 13, at 8 p.m. CT on BTN. The winner of the game will move on to face No. 6 seed Iowa (21-10, 10-10) on Thursday, March 14, at approx. 8:30 p.m. CT.
Illinois and Northwestern split their two regular season meetings. The Wildcats won 68-66 in Evanston on Jan. 6 and then the Fighting Illini took the rematch, 81-76, March 3 in Champaign. Ayo Dosunmu (15.0 ppg) and Andres Feliz (14.0 ppg) were the top Illini scorers in the two regular season meetings against Northwestern.
Illinois leads the all-time series vs. Northwestern 135-42 and is 3-0 against the Wildcats at the United Center.
