Hello Illini Nation!

It's crazy how we have already reached the end of our fall 2019 season! We couldn't be more thankful for the opportunities we had to play in three fantastic tournaments each hosted by the University of Toledo, University of Oklahoma, and University of North Carolina Wilmington. 

Let's talk about some highlights of the season! The team finished in the top five in all four of our fall season tournaments.  Twice the team finished in the top three at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah and The Landfall Tradition. 

At the Schooner Fall Classic hosted by Oklahoma, our senior Tristyn Nowlin captured an amazing individual win by fighting till the end, sticking to her process, and enjoying the moment. Huge congrats to Tristyn on her second individual win! We are so proud!

Another highlight of the season was the success of hosting the 2nd annual Illini Invitational at Medinah! This year the event only built on the success from the previous year, and we will continue to strive toprovide a world class tournament with the support and assistance of the Medinah membership and staff. As always, we were so grateful to see so many Illini fans out to watch and support us. We don't get to compete so close to home compared to many other sports here on campus, so it always warms our hearts to see that people were able to make the trek and fill the course with more Orange and Blue. 

We are blessed to have had all the opportunities and challenges that were given to us this season including playing on some of the most famous golf courses and in some very competitive tournaments. The opportunities have given us the chance to shine on the course as the Fighting Illini. We also had the opportunity to reflect and analyze this season allowing us to better prepare for the upcoming spring season. 

If there is one thing that has not changed on this team since last year, it would be the love and support we have for each other. I am so proud to say that I have the best, most loving teammates and the most supportive staff and support system here at the U of I. We have been through some ups and downs both in golf and academics but we have never stopped fighting, being grateful to have each other, and for the resources we have as student-athletes to make our experience that much sweeter. 

As we finish up this fall semester and go our separate ways for winter break, we will all be working extra hard on the goals we have made for the break and will be back in a couple weeks for our annual training trip in Florida! We are all so excited for this spring season and we hope you keep following us on our journey as we work towards writing our legacy.
