Champaign, Ill. – It will be Epilepsy Awareness Night at State Farm Center when the Fighting Illini host No. 4 Michigan on Wed., Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. CT.

The Fighting Illini have teamed with the Epilepsy Foundation and Athletes vs. Epilepsy to promote awareness and raise funds in the fight against epilepsy. Tickets for the game are available starting at just $20 and can be purchased online at FightingIllini.com.

Fans entering State Farm Center at the West Main Entrance will receive purple wrist bands and an informational card about epilepsy. Purple pom poms will be distributed throughout the 100-level of the arena. The Orange Krush student section will receive purple rally towels. The night will also include in-game educational elements about epilepsy, and a donation by the Orange Krush, the Illini basketball student support group, who earlier this week held a knockout tournament to raise money for Athletes vs. Epilepsy.

Fighting Illini Assistant to the Head Coach Jamall Walker and his family have teamed up with the Epilepsy Foundation to help spread the message after their son, Braylon, was diagnosed.

Athletes vs. Epilepsy is a nationwide program for athletes, coaches, volunteers and fans to raise awareness and funds to help fund the Epilepsy Foundation's mission to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.  The initiative brings awareness in all sports through participation by athletes of all ages and skill levels as well as their supportive friends, family and fans.
