
Anderson Receives ATP Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award

Illinois men's tennis alumnus Kevin Anderson received the ATP Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award, as announced by the ATP on Thursday. Anderson, who played at Illinois from 2005-2007, was honored for his support of numerous charitable causes, including First Serve, an organization that helps underserved children in Palm Beach County, Florida; Dezzy's Second Chance Animal Rescue in South Florida; and Ocean Conservancy's Trash Free Seas Alliance.

On Saturday, Anderson hosted Courtside Cause - a fundraiser at the Boca Grove Golf & Tennis Club in Boca Raton, Florida featuring tennis stars Jesse Levine, Coco Gauff, Shelby Rogers, and Bob and Mike Bryan. Comedian Michael Kosta - a former teammate of Anderson's at Illinois. The event raised $90,000.
Last December, Anderson raised more than $100,000 at his Grand Slam Cause for the Paws. The 2018 Nitto ATP Finals qualifier will return to the ATP Tour for the first time since Wimbledon at the ATP Cup, where he will lead Team South Africa.
