Opening Tips
• After a week off, Illinois begins a five-game homestand on Monday night, hosting Hawaii (7 p.m., ESPNU).
• Illinois plays seven of its next eight games at State Farm Center, and eight of the next 10 to close out 2019.
• Illinois returns 85% of its scoring from last season, the third-highest percentage among teams from the six major conferences.
• Illinois leads the nation in offensive rebound rate (44.4%) and ranks fourth in the NCAA in rebound margin (+17.0).
• Center Kofi Cockburn was the inaugural Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree for the 2019-20 season after averaging 14.0 points and 10.7 rebounds. Cockburn had a historic start to his collegiate career, becoming the first Illini freshman in 37 years to record double-doubles in each of his first two games. Cockburn debuted with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in the season-opening win over Nicholls, then recorded game highs of 23 points and 14 boards in the victory at Grand Canyon.
• Senior Andres Feliz recorded two double-doubles in the first three games, leading the Illini with 23 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in the win over Nicholls and tallying 13 points with a game-high 10 boards at No. 21 Arizona. Feliz has now posted double-doubles in three of his last five games dating back to last year's Big Ten Tournament first-round win over Northwestern (11 pts, 10 reb.).
